Michelle Fiallo-Lasser began her career in fashion, graduating from FIT in New York and working under the revered Oscar de la Renta. Those formative years honed her eye for detail and design, taking her from the PR office to the design studio and eventually to Paris for Oscar’s iconic American in Paris show. For over a decade, she worked as a women’s wear designer, traveling the world and staying in hotels that quietly sparked her next passion—interior design.
She returned to school at the New York School of Interior Design and transitioned into residential and hospitality projects, working with design legends like Bunny Williams and firms like the Rockwell Group. These experiences gave her a deep understanding of the business, from managing complex projects to collaborating with high-profile clients and creating spaces that balance beauty and function.
Today, she brings that unique blend of fashion, interiors, and business expertise to Design Thread Studio and Design ThreadAI. Her mission is to support interior design studios with accessible AI solutions that integrate seamlessly into their workflows and to help homeowners create timeless, thoughtful spaces.
Her approach is rooted in making design feel clear and approachable. Through her studio and AI platform, she is building a community for designers and clients alike—one where knowledge is shared, technology feels less intimidating, and every project begins with confidence.
This work also holds a personal meaning for her— It’s where her passion for design, teaching, and mentorship meet, shaping a vision she has been building toward her entire career.
